Our Story
Our hotel is housed in a historic building dating back to the late 19th century, which was transformed into a cozy retreat 80 years ago. Since then, it has offered comfortable stays and delicious meals while preserving the charm and character of its original construction.
In the 1970s, Dona Mariazinha, a direct descendant of the founders, and her husband Alfredo took over the hotel. Together, they carried out extensive renovations, including the construction of the pool, while preserving the family legacy.
Today, Dona Mariazinha continues to lead the hotel, with the support of her children and son-in-law, who help keep alive the tradition and hospitality that have always defined this place.
Our Vision
Over the years, we have always prioritized the land, respect for the traditions, and the appreciation of local cuisine. We genuinely aim to offer our guests an authentic and intimate experience, far from the crowded Algarve, providing a place where the focus is on tranquility, the flavors of traditional food, and the charm of a location that retains its essence, away from the large tourist crowds.
But above all, our greatest love is for Monchique. This land, with its stunning mountains and landscapes, its rich culture, and its welcoming people, is our daily inspiration. We have a deep respect and affection for everything that Monchique represents, and this is reflected in the way we welcome and care for everyone who visits us.
